MISSIONS UPDATE 2012
PANAMA AND PERU: JANUARY
Our first day flying to the central American nation of Panama was an event by itself. Sitting behind two young men reading their Bibles peaked our curiosity, until we were introduced to Rich Wilkerson Jr, the Youth Pastor for his Dad of the same name in Miami, Florida. They were returning from ministry at the Planetshakers Conference in Australia. We remarked after all that flying it was amazing they were still upright!
Continuing on to to Panama, we were greeted by two airport assistants who whisked us past the usual long lines of customs and passport control, and took care of everything for us. We knew what Philip felt like when he was translated from Azotus….lol…Acts 8:40. One official was the niece of long time Panamanian Dictator Manuel Noriega who had recently been repatriated back from France. She asked us to pray for his healing and we said we would also stand in the gap for his salvation.
The next day we started preaching, Keith at the Ekklesia Conference with Pastor Edwin Alvarez and his 45,000 member church, Hosanna. Certain sections of the city are allowed to attend the 6000-seat sanctuary nightly, and gain admittance by wearing a certain colored t-shirt to identify their area.

Pastor Taylor Barringer,
Son of P. Robert and Karyn: exhorting his satellite congregation before Mary speaks

Mary prophesying to leaders at P. Taylor's church
The next day Mary started out at 9 am ministering at the Barringer’s son’s church, Taylor, at their Miraflores campus. The Lord healed people of tumors and several direct prophetic words were delivered to leaders. Keith preached at another site at 10 am and then the Hudsons ministered together at night on the 23rd anniversary of Camino De Vida. Mary pointed out that 23 was a number of grace, and people under this covering this year could expect increased favor on their lives. That night Keith and Mary were aware of God’s grace themselves as they awoke to a 6.2 earthquake on one of the top floors of their hotel. No damage and no injuries were reported throughout the city, although the intensity of the quake could have warranted much more.
Keith’s message was aired nationally on Hosanna’s national television show as well as the church’s five radio stations, which blankets the nation with the gospel. Mary ministered at Pastor Dalys’ Church, salvation and encouragement, with several words from the Lord. A prophecy came forth for Pastor Maury Davis’ wife from Nashville, TN: her assistant thanked Mary after the service, saying “this is exactly what she has been going through for over a year.” At night the Alvarez took all the ministers out for a typical Panamanian meal, “San Cocho.” A delicious chicken and yam soup!
Mary was led to prophesy to the nation on their last night in the country. The Lord brought forth a word that this small but strategic country has God’s hand on it. (Panama controls the shipping lanes of the Panama Canal where freight from the East and the West pass through to the other side of the world, saving 8000 miles and hundred of thousands of dollars from having to go around the tip of South America.):
“The last shall be first, and the message of the conference, dominion, cannot be taken lightly. You are not just spectators this year. But as you take this word and rise up against the enemy and take your authority, you will see the Lord's hand.” The Holy Spirit had such a hold on Mary while delivering the message that she was shaking violently. She knew it was God's grace she did not fall out under the power in the middle of the prophecy. Keith remarked she looked like she had seen a ghost after she walked away from the podium.. She had … His name is Holy.
On Friday the Hudsons flew on to Lima, Peru, to be a part of Camino De Vida’s church anniversary. Pastored by Robert Barringer and his wife Karyn, Robert was saved on the streets of Los Angles thirty years ago. A former surfer and one of the original “Lords of Dog Town,” Robert met his wife Karyn at Bible School in San Diego. After graduation they sensed a call to be missionaries to the Peruvian Indians in the Andes. However they heard that churches in Lima would not allow youth to attend services without a tie and shoes. They were outraged that clothing would keep young people out of church who needed as much of God as they could get to set them free from deep poverty. So 23 years ago the Barringers started their own church in the nation’s capital and today ten thousand people of all generations attend their five week-end services.
Grace House was the first stop on the Hudson’s itinerary. P Robert and Karyn have almost completed the interior of the sparkling new campus for anorexic and bulimic girls in Peru. This is such a problem that local high schools have been forced to replace their pipes because of girls afflicted with this over-use the bathroom facilities. As Pastor Barringer aptly commented, “The world is (now) flat with the internet.” Teens whose tribal parents in the mountains are illiterate, daily jump on the web at internet cafes to Facebook and check out what the rest of the world is doing and follow the crowd. Interior items, cabinets, dressers and kitchen plumbing are still needed to finish the project before they can open their doors. All donations for this cause can be sent to “Grace House” at www.caminodevida.com.
After that Keith and Mary immediately went to work ministering, Keith preaching at the main Camino De Vida campus, where the enthusiasm is so great, but parking limited. People don’t hesitate at the fact that they are restricted to parking six blocks away to attend services. Mary ministered at their satellite service on the northern part of Lima to over four hundred women, hungry to hear about “Getting Straight to the Heart of Things.” And over forty women filled the altar to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
